Dinah the Cat with Passover Cakeoil on linen 42" x 60" |
I drew this cat with an apron on to represent my Aunt Helen, who came to visit and stayed close to us my whole life. Ambridge was the closest town near Pittsburgh. Aunt Helen was very fat and her huge arms hung down like wings. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how she got that fat. The thing about Aunt Helen was her cooking. She made the most amazing sponge cake at Passover, the highest, the whitest icing, and the one with the most strawberries. |
