Listening to the Ocean
watercolor
20" x 15"

Resting on your right shoulder blade,
Listening inside the cavity of your chest
As if it were a conch shell,
I hear the ocean.
Lobster boasts with their radios turned up
Don’t bother me.
Nothing disturbs while me resting
On your right shoulder blade.
My right ear is against fabric,
Folds ripple into waves,
I Float along.
Supported and unafraid,
I will stay forever,
And listen to the ocean.
